Hello, I have purchased a stock Westy stove/fridge cabinet to install in my 1987 Syncro Vanagon. I plan to upgrade the fridge to a Vitrofrigo and to install a drawer below the fridge based on the pioneering design of Richard Jones (http://jones.colorado.edu/jones/Vitrifrigo/). While I am at it, I am open to any other good cabinet mods. I do not plan on using the sink, so I think another good mod might be to remove the sink drain and extend the drawer all the way back to the wall. In fact, it seems that the drawer could be widened if it were mounted on roller type brackets rather than the goofy wood slots used by Westfalia. What about removing the sink all together and replacing it with some type of storage bin? How about replacing the cabinet door under the sink with two full width drawers? With the current design it is a real PITA to reach the back corners of the cabinet. Any other suggestions wecome. This type of project is a bit over my head so I am trying to find a woodworking shop in Cincinnati, Ohio to do the job. thanks, jake 87 Syncro van 82 AC Westy |
