In me limited exposure to the systems I'd say if there is no actual puncture/s and if the dents do not significantly constrict the movement inside and there is no surface prep damage inside the cavity (you can't determine this really) i.e. flaking treatment, if any exists, you may be good. It shouldn't cost you a dime to have a HVAC pro give it a quick look tho'.
