oh we're in trouble now ! Figured you had an air-cooled vanagon has they do indeed have a cold start valve, and being late on the conversation possibly, you didn't know Jim is talking about his 2.1 waterboxer.

but now .......you're saying a TDI ALH engine has one ? I know the AHU better ..............and , correct me if I am wrong ......but there are only 4 injectors on a 4 cylinder ALH tdi engine, and no cold start injector.

yes.........longer injection times, you got it.

A separate cold start injector is just a hokey thing, and old fashioned too, in my opinion. I don't think there are any modern engines that have them.

here's a fun one for ya .........I can't remember the model right now ...........but there are now cars .......might be a Lexus ...........that have both port fuel injectors and direct injection injectors in the cylinders. In other words, 16 injectors on a V-8 engine ..... or maybe it's 12 injectors on a V-6. Gonna be expensive to fix someday if work is eventually needed on them. Scott
