I also have a Garmin GPS. I can't say enough about my love for the
unit (base model I picked up at a Best Buy sale). Mine also has the SD
card slot, but I have been updating mine through the USB connection to
my computer instead of the add-on cards.
I used to have a Tom-Tom, and I must say that IMHO, the Garmin user
interface is much easier to use.
