I have 17'X7 & 17 X9 (wider in back) on my 84 Vanagon. Stock 256mm brakes. 40/45 series tires. Have Borbet Type E 17 X 7's front and back in my 88 2wd Doka. SA 276mm Big brakes. 40 series tires Tomorrow will have 17 X 8 Borbet Type T on my 89 Syncro 16 Doka. Audi dual-piston calipers w/ 303mm rotors. 50 series tires. In each application, the wheel and tire assembly weighs less than the stock bare steel wheel. Yeah, yeah... The low profile tires on the Syncro is for daily driving. The 16" steels with 80 series tires go on for off road work. I hope that helps. -- BenT |
