no, I figured he'd mention location in a subsequent post, and he did. It was
no surprise he left it out in the first post of course.
I am even seeing new adds in current issue magazines, for a turbo rebuilder
say.........and they don't say where they are.
Sure is weird to me.
'where things are' is the very ESSENCE of fixing things, making things
happy............where the new part on the shelf is, to getting it on the
van, to getting the old part into the landfill trash................. where
the dirty old oil is, where the fresh clean oil is, where the right
electrons at the right time are , and the fuel molecules to the right place
at the right time ............as concerns proper running.......where the air
is flowing.......it is ALL, about WHERE things are.
Like if someone calls me with a problem on a van .........I can't even think
about what it might be without knowing Where they are having this problem.
If they are around the corner, or in another state makes all the difference
in the world. Same for something for sale. it's so obvious.
I think there is a serious decline in the 'integrity of communcation' gong
on .........due to primarily the electronic gizmos world, and things like
instant messaging, which is already killing people by their IM-ing while
driving a car or a train.........and the general decline in the quality of
education, especially around things like clear thought flow in writing,
sentence structure, puncutation etc...........( and it will never be said
that I am any kind of speller - I stink at spelling for sure ! )
..........but .........you know............heck, people can call 911 now and
not be able to say WHERE they are needing rescue. Now most cell phones are
GPS linked automatically for 911 calls. Humans get stupider as their
technology gests more advanced.
The end result is more disconnection, more disance between souls, hearts and
beings. So unnessary too. Slightly tragic even.
It IS wonderful we have this magic, near free, near instantaneous,
world-spanning medium to communcate in ...........I SO appreciate it !
Would like to see it used with consideration and integrity of course.
......and it is about *where* things are.
Where the money is, where the storms are, where you drive in your lane,
where the other cars are, on and on............. where the air pressure that
is supposed to be in your tires is, where the air going into your lungs is,
where the oxygen going to your brain is....................and where
something for sale is. ( and not 'where it's at' - sheesh ! )
You won't find a real estate ad not saying where a property for sale is.
They get the importance of 'location' , and that 'essense' for sure !
Now back to normal programming.
I hope all your brain oxygen molecules, and your money, and the gas in your
tank, all are WHERE they belong !
And may the electrons jumping your spark plug gaps fire the exact correct
fuel/air ratio at exactly the correct time.
Diesel drivers.........I'm sorry.........compression ignition is a
fundamental disadvantage, and very stressful on the engine.
You will be wondering WHERE your next engine is when you need that next one.
Speaking of .........I so need to get on this one diesel 1.6NA engine of
mine to see if it's any good or not. I need to get the correct shims from
the shim box to under the right cam lobes. .........the essese of
everything, particularily around fixing and repar and modifications, is all
about WHERE things are.
So plainly obvious and 'the essense of the matter' , in my mind anyway.
That's how I fix stuff, I just move 'stuff' from one place to another,
that's all really. It's knowing what to move where is the trick of course,
but it is still just moving 'things' or molecules, from one place to
another.
your tormentor, and your buddy, ( The tormenting part comes from wanting to
see people and vanagons healthy and happy ! )
I gotta get off here and go move some things to the other places they belong
! Apologies for all mis-spellings !
Scott
