Mike, right on ! It's a tool, yes another tool and I use it the same way. When I NEED it it's marvellous and when i don't I DON"T use it ! But, if you do enough driving around like I do in unfamiliar places you will become to understand the usefulness of a GPS system. Just go to any big city where you've never been and try to find an address you NEED to get to without spending time driving around in circles, asking questions, buying local maps, trying to decipher the maps, get wrong directions from the oh so kind person who just want to help, etc. AND, my GPS systems, Streets & Trips, Garmin, Delorme and MexicoMapsAtlas are all on my 15.4" laptop on my dash so I can always see the BIG picture so I can make on the fly decisions about altering my course for stuff that may be interesting near by. You cannot do that with the handheld units unless you have magnifying glasses on !

>>>>>>Well, yeah ... and my GPS system always tells me where I am. Getting from there to where I want to go is much easier than "Guessing" where I am.

I use a DeLorme GPS on my laptop and love it. The trick with a GPS is to use it as a tool and not to rely on it solely. I particularly like the ability to travel secondary roads and make routing changes on the fly even when I'm unfamiliar with the area.

GPS ... don't leave home without it. LOL<<<<<<<
