Plug in conversions for the prius have been around for years, nice thought except they have all voided the factory warranty in the past, which is a big no-no if you have something as complex as a prius, just because a123's kit is installed at toyota dealers doesn't mean it won't void the warranties either btw.

The poulsan setup is just wacky and doesn't have DOT approval yet, it's external(on the outside of the rear wheels) and likely won't offer anything near worth buying and installing it...

The electrodrive is a mild hybrid that replaces the alternator, similar to the system used on some malibus and the hybrid GM suvs, no huge gains to be had there either.

Basically none of them are likely to be worth the risk, esp for a vanagon(VC).. my two cents
