We have discussed this before. The enclosures are glued tight and they are definitely smaller than 4". I think you could probably Dremel them apart and epoxy them back together but I chose to make a pair of small plywood boxes and installed a pair of terrific MA Audio 2-way drivers - 3 1/2" I think. If you want my old ones I could send them to you. They've been up for a few years now and still satisfy this musician.
