Jon, You don't have to remove the dash to swap master cylinders. Just remove the instrument cluster. Remove all the brake fluid from the master that you can first but don't use the kitchen's favorite turkey baster then expect to sneak it back to the drawer. put lots of rags under where you'll be working as undoing the brake lines can be messy.
