Check two things. The breather hose between the plenum and the air intake boot. If it's original then it's collapsing when hot and causing pressure in the crankcase to build up. Replace this with 3/4" red multi purpose hose, it will not collapse. The dipstick tube has a small O-ring that seals it into the block. Remove the dipstick tube, take a pick and remove the remnants of the now dried up and rock hard old O-ring, clean both seats well and install and new O-ring, the official one is green, using some good lube. Make sure the tube is well secured to the alternator cross brace when done.

My oil level is about midway between "add" and "full" marks.

I'm guessing this indicates pressure in the case, do I have a clogged case vent somewhere? Not familiar with how the WBX case venting works. Or is the dipstick just loose?<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
