I have just completed a bleed operation on both my Vanagons. What I did was to use my hand held grinder and cut a slot through the lower 3/4 of the bolt. This left a large enough slot for the system to bleed nicely without any fiddling. When I tighten the bolt all is well because the slot is only on the lower 3/4 so there is enough thread to seal the system. Works great for me! A J
