To go to 134a or to Freeze 12 - either one - you must have installed the valves and fillers for the 134a. The other thing to know is that if you run the 134a in your old system for very long at all, you will most likely wreck your compressor. The old compressors were not designed to handle the head pressure that is required for use of 134a. The freeze 12 runs at lower pressures.
