Check out this:

http://www.members.shaw.ca/bilbo/survey.html

A really useful survey of I4 installs showing costs type of install etc.

Some more VW I4 info from the same site:

http://members.shaw.ca/albell/vanagon.html

This is also a good primer though it is an install of a gas engine into a Diesel Vanagon (much easier):

http://volksweb.relitech.com/vanagon.htm

I also started a VW gas I4 site, (for "home brew" type installs of VW/Audi gas I4 engines):

http://groups.google.com/group/vanagons-with-vw-inline-4-cylinder-gas-engines?lnk=sg

The process can be a really involved if you do a DIY "home brew" ( you gather the needed parts) or pretty straightforward if doing a DIY kit. (Tiico kit)

Google Tiico for their kit. There is also a Yahoo Tiico user site.

There should be lots of info in the archives.

Cheers,

Neil.
