Probably because that is the only van slated for the USA, and therefore will avoid the high duty cost. From what I heard from Mirco, there is some chance of a smaller Westfalia Sprinter/VW Crafter being part of the reentry to the US market. My view, too, is that a US Westfalia factory would be a good plan.
