for those of you (like me) who DO name your buses ...

do you find that you also name other makes and models of cars? or just vw buses. :)

i've name all of my buses since 1970 (that's when i got my first one, after i got out of the army), but not all of my other vehicles have had any names ... there was Blue Goose, Humpback (a 1968 Doka, actually his real name was Quasi-motor, the Humpback of Noted Fame), Zoomer (1973, had a 2bbl carb on it), der Bus (1980 vanagon), Moby Bus (white 1986), Gus-Gus the Bus Bus, Otto, Moby Grape, and the latest one, Lumpy (a tree limb fell on it).

even had a porsche 914 ... called it Blitzfahrt. ;) named all the beetles.

but never named the one mercedes i had for just a short while (long enough to find out how expensive the maintenance on those things was!!), or any of the four hondas i've had. somehow the hondas just don't seem to lend themselves to nicknames ... i don't know why.

so ... is it only vw buses? or only vws? i knew a girl once who had nicknames for various body parts. :)

unca joel
