GoWesty! has a headlight protection kit for your regular & hi-beam lenses.
It's 3M heavy-duty adhesive clear plastic & is pre-cut for Vanagon
headlights. Several years ago, I made my own (from the same 3M plastic) for
my Projectzwo driving lights after a stone cracked a lens & haven't had a
problem since. (I just bought one of the GoWesty! kits because a stone
cracked a hi-beam lens & I trust the 3-M plastic method.) They also have a
kit to upgrade your wiring so you can install hi-wattage bulbs in your
headlights (it even comes w/ the two bulbs). Now, I have a question: how do
you clean the inside of the headlight lens? One guy said that he poured in
some denatured alcohol, swished it about, poured it out & let the remainder
evaporate. Is this the best way to go?
