Did you drain the old gas out, and put fresh gas in??? That's the first thing I would do! Sitting for 6 years can lead to all sorts of problems with fuel and the tank. Run a tank full of Techcron fuel injector cleaner or Sea Foam, that is if you can keep it running. Otherwise it could be any kind of problem, from a bad head gasket to leaking vacuum lines, to clogged injectors. Jack R. 84 Westy Wolfie, owned since 1987. I bought it about year ago after it had been sitting for 6 years. I changed all the fluids, and brakes. My problem is: when i am driving sometimes the engine just stops running. What i have been doing is to turn the key off/on and the engines starts running. I did change the ignition switch, but it did not keep. Does anyone have any ideas for me to try?
Thanks, Ila "84 Westy |
