Subject: It's Friday: Hoppe's #9 Powder Solvent
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Hello Volks,

I just came across an old bottle of Hoppe's #9 powder solvent, meant for cleaning the bores of rifles and shotguns. I don't even own a gun anymore (I grew up on a Pennsylvania farm), but the smell of the solvent sure does take me back to memories of great times, like shooting clay pigeons and hunting pheasants on my Dad's farm.

Please don't come down on me for mentioning hunting, I don't do that anymore, (maybe you would have to be born in the 50's or before), this is about how smells and sounds can take you to a place that you might not have remembered for some time. Music can do that as well.

Vanagon content: Hoppe's #9 would surely be good at cleaning fuel injectors, but I have not tried it ;)

Cheers,

Dave Milo
