It took awhile, but here's my reply to this issue... which I have been
watching.
I just blew a hose from head to water distributor on right side of 86
Westy. When I removed the hose to replace, I found some debris in the
distributor- from, I think the lining of hoses. Removed the
distributor and I scraped out about 1/3 of a cup of crumbly black
deposits, cleaned things up and put it back together. It seems that
most of my overheating came from the obstructions from that stuff. Now
I can sit still w/ac on and not get too hot. Maybe worth checking out,
as my temps acted the same way.
