On mine there was grey shite in the male/female grooves that held it together pretty good.

It may take time, but levering it open bit by bit is *likely* possible. Look closely and remove all the clips. IIRC, I used a couple of rigid putty knives and/or a straight blade screw driver. I found the plastic to be pretty forgiving. No crackage.

When I resealed mine, I sealed it on the outside. Not in the grooves. I'm confident that it seals fine and will be much easier to open up the next time around.

Also consider redoing the seals on the flaps. I used close cell residential type foam. There may be other better materials. Lots of info in the archives I'm sure!
