Lola is doing great.  Only one scare, and that was yesterday morning when she wouldn't start.  But I've seen this problem before: worn key + freezing temperatures.  I tried the spare key, and she cranked right up.
 
I'd been getting 87 octane fuel, up until this morning when I saw that 87 and 89 were the same price.  So I filled it up (and she was pretty empty) with 89 octane fuel.  Next time I fueled up, 235 miles, 9.1 gallons = 25 MPG.  Lola usually gets about 20.  As a matter of fact, I just calculated all my fuel receipts, and she was getting 19-20 up to that point.  I can't wait until the next time I get gas to see if it was a fluke.....
 
Everywhere we go, someone says to me, "I used to have one".  Since I left Washington, I haven't seen another Vanagon or Bus :(
 
Minneapolis tomorrow & a couple days of rest for the old girl(s).
