Not so. The same 185R14's used on steel wheels are also within spec for use
on the factory Alloys.  Our Hankook RA08's are extremely popular for use on
the alloy wheels, and highly recommended on the web (here, the Samba,
Roadhaus, etc.).  I use them myself on my '87 Westy with alloys and cannot
recommend them highly enough.
