Actually, it's a 2mm x 14mm long pin. Just take a small finishing nail skinnier than the pin and carefully tap it out. The handle should separate from the piece that goes through the glass. Early Jettas/Rabbits/Golfs use this same type of Vent Lock and attaching procedure. -- Jim Thompson 84 GL 1.9 "Gloria" 84 Westfalia 2.1 "Ole Putt" 72 411 Station Wagon "Pug" oldvolkshome@gmail.com http://www.oldvolkshome.com jim@airheadparts.com ***********************************

Hello All,

I have a used vent window lock that I bought. It is all one piece, looks like it was taken out of a broken window. My question is; how do I separate the handle section from the section that goes into the window. There looks like there is some type of set screw in the "elbow", but I have not been able to get it apart.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance,
