That's not going to always work. If you have been looking at your phone bills (both cell & landline), you may have noticed a fee for "local number portability". That's been there for close to 5 years. Anyway, you pay that fee to reimburse phone companies for the cost of letting you take your phone number with you when you chnage phone companies. For eample, I ported my landline to a cell phone. I moved and kept the number with me.
