Most of these radiators, and given the size, the cooling systems need a good flushing anyway.

My first Syncro, purchased with 70K miles, started leaking at 100K. Added Barr's and was good to 150K. Added again, good to 200K. Added another, final bottle and never leaked again (changed out engine at 300K due to old and tired.) My next Syncro, purchased with 100K and leaking. Added Barr's and good until burned valve at 165K. 2WD started leaking at 105K, added Barr's, good to 160K, added again and still waiting at 185K (my son's van.)

Never an overheating problem with my vans, but I do flush. Maybe that's the difference. To each his own, of course. Do what works for you. I have looked as this as more of a necessity than an option.
