Subject: Wiring theory confirmation please. (adding Jetta tach + Vanagon
              oil pressure PCB)
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Hi all.

I'm "in there" adding a "dynamic oil pressure system control unit" to my Jetta conversion, so want to install the Jetta tachometer I have from the donor. It looks like it will fit the Vanagon clock portion of the cluster. So.....

Is the following correct?

The Vanagon voltage stabilizer's function is limited to gauges only. (Fuel, coolant etc.)

The Vanagon oil pressure PCB and tach take 12V from 15 and NOT from the output of the voltage stabilizer.

I think I have the correct wire (tach signal) from the Jetta ECU. Just have to figure out the correct pin out for the Jetta tach.

Having a tach would be nice!

Thanks!

Neil.
