Joy, it will be nice to see you again, although I wished it would be under more pleasant circumstances.
I think that it is wonderful how the VW community is coming together. I see strangers helping strangers and offering places to stay and accommodations or to pick up folks flying in. This is just truly memorable.
Actually this will probably be the first time that there is such a reunion of VW people in one spot (at least in North America) and I would bet that very few of us know each other face to face. I guess we better have name tags with our email posting name.
I will be driving in from Rochester with my buddies Mark and Dave. We plan on taking off after the darn trick-or-treaters are done and driving all night to get to Boston. Meeting on Friday night will not work for us.
Since there are 3 of us available to drive we should be good to go all night. If you let us know where and when we can definitely shoot for that meeting place and gather up for breakfast. Definitely after the memorial we would want to stick around and continue the camaraderie in honor to Bob.

Subject: who's coming to Bob's memorial this weekend?
Hi all,
I was just wondering if those of us coming to Bob's memorial on Saturday,
and perhaps the viewing on Friday, could meet up, spend some time all
together Friday night, or Saturday morning, or perhaps Saturday after the
memorial. I don't know if I've ever actually met any of the folks who've
mentioned that they'll be there, though I certainly know some of you from
this list. I imagine the same is true for many of you. I'd like to spend
some time with other vanagon folks, perhaps meet up for dinner Friday or go
to the memorial together.
What do you all think? Who's going to be here? Perhaps we can fix
someplace to eat Friday night or Saturday morning, and all meet there?
If people are flying in and need transportation, perhaps those of us who
have our vans here can get together on helping with logistics?
I hope so! I'd like to be with my vanagon family to celebrate Bob together.
