To all,

Here are the details for the Boston Bob memorial events this weekend. Hopefully we can have a nice size cruise. We won't be traveling any great distances as Wayland is a pretty small town. Please RSVP to this e-mail.

Wake: Friday Oct. 31, 4-8pm, Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Rd., Wayland, MA 01778.

Friday camping: available at Jim Akiba's place in Hyde Park, MA (near Boston). Contact Jim directly via e-mail (jakiba@bostig.com) for details.

Cruise: Saturday Nov. 1, 10:30am-11am, meet at Finnerty's Country Squire restaurant parking lot, 148 Main St., Wayland, MA 01778. Located at intersection of Route 27 and West Plain St. Restaurant is closed, so we can use their parking lot which you enter from West Plain St. Cruise will depart shortly after 11am. We may get to see Boston Bob's hearse drive by around 11am, but we won't be following it. There is a Dunkin' Donuts within walking distance from the parking lot.

First stop: Mansion Beach on Dudley Pond at the intersection of Lake Shore Drive and Mansion Road. Supposedly Boston Bob's old fishing boat is located somewhere near the beach. After the beach stop we will wind our way along Dudley Pond, driving by a house that Bob used to live in on Lake Shore Drive.

Second stop: Dudley Pond Chateau, 20 Crest Rd., Wayland, MA 01778. The notorious 'Chat' will be open and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages at the bar. Great view of Dudley Pond and a former speak-easy back in the days of Prohibition. We'll have a brief toast to Boston Bob who was known to frequent this establishment.

Memorial service: Saturday Nov. 1, 1:00 pm, First Parish Unitarian Universalist Congregational church, Wayland, MA 01778. Overflow parking is located behind the Wayland Town Hall, 41 Cochituate Rd., just across the street from the church.

Reception: Saturday Nov. 1, 2:00 - 3:30 pm, First Parish church. Reception will be in the church basement rec. hall.

Saturday evening get together and camping: Dale Ward's family estate, 993 Main St., Shrewsbury, MA 01545. Located directly across from the Ward Hill ski area. We will be camping behind the barn, drive around the left side of the barn. Plenty of firewood will be available for a group campfire. We will have a nice clean porta-potty available, but no shower facilities. If you want to stay warm, bring a propane heater and/or a good sleeping bag, the limited electric service will not support electric heaters. There are various restaurants and stores nearby, check with Dale when you get there.

PLEASE reply to this e-mail so I can get an accurate count of how many of us will be attending. Let me know if you will be attending:

- Saturday morning cruise (need count to notify town Police and Chateau staff) - Memorial service and reception (need count for reception food) - Saturday evening camping

I'd also like to know what you will be driving, how many people are in your party and where you are coming from.

If anyone needs to reach me via telephone, my home number is 508-651-3502.

Thanks,

Stan Wohlfarth
