Remove the instrument cluster, and the brake light switches on the bottom of the master cylinder will be in clear view.

the instrument cluster comes out in about 3 or 4 minutes..............super easy. One tool needed - a Phillips screw driver, I like one with a long shaft. the issues affecting removing the instrument cluster are : Unclip the side switches for access to the two ( of 4 ) rear most mounting screws. ( the brake warning light.......just unplug that one ) undo the speedo cable. the main wiring connector plug, called T14 in the Bentley diagrams and the four mounting screws.

it's not likely you have two faulty brake light switches, but that's a good place to access part of the brake light circuit for testing purposes. Scott www.turbovans.com

My brake lights wont come on. The bulbs are fine and I've replaced the fuse.

I see from the big green book there are two brake light switches. Someone here said they are hydraulic. My fluid level is fine. Brakes are working fine.

So I think the big green books picture was referencing the brake fluid area in the dash under the cover.

But in looking at it, I'm not sure what the best way is to get to the brake light switches (from the top or do I remove the streering wheel column cover?), and will I have to remove the fluid to remove the switches?
