>> But you're forgetting, it doesn't share any suspension components with the Chrysler. <<

I did not know that. I knew that VW had "Tuned" the suspension for a more European ride but I was not aware that it was completely different. Interesting. I should go drive one for the fun of it and add it to my YouTube videos. I knew the interior was different, substantially nicer than the Chrysler IMHO.

Do you have a link to where there is a write-up on the VW suspension used?

>> The one I looked at was $32K, comparable to the Chrysler product......... <<

Hmmm, I thought VW just put all their $40K versions on the lot. VW has a habit of creating a (in this instance) a $24K product then only having the completely loaded versions of the vehicle at the dealer. Like their $23K Tiguan that is only available for $37K on the dealer lot.

Maybe with today's belt tightening by consumers there will be more "striped" vehicles sold than ones with 4 DVD players, heated rear seats, NAV system, 40" wheels, blah blah blah. In the last recession when I bought a new Jetta I had them take the pin striping off, remove the radio, take out the floor mats, etc. etc. :) Car dealers hate me.
