There are 3 main possible causes of your specific problem and a few less likely ones. It would take more time than I am willing to spend right now to explain them all. You need to do ONE SIMPLE thing to eliminate one or two of the main possibilities. Remove the coolant level warning relay from the main relay panel of 86-91 models. It will have a 43 or 42 stamped on the end facing you.Simply note where it is and pull it out towards you. Then see if your symptoms change. Let us know. Mark
