I have an '86 2.1 and I am using an S&S Headers Turbo muffler. It's one piece from the CAT. They also make a one piece header that replaces the many parts that makes up the OEM system. I can't speak to longevity, but it is simple enough. It uses the stock mounting holes for it's own attached brackets. D
