Subject: Porsche Head Needed - NVC

When I dropped my Vanagon off at my mechanic's I noticed there was Porsche 944 there with the head off. My mechanic says it needs a new head and the new ones are quite pricey. He's searching his sources for a used one and I thought maybe I'd ask if anyone here knows where I can get a used 944 head for an '87 944S 4 cyl 2.5 Dual Overhead Cam Non-Turbo.

Apparently there are not allot of used heads out there due to the same issue this thing had. There is a 50 cent piece of plastic that gets loose and jams itself into the timing gear and the stress of the chain not being able to move cracks the head. Wow. I'll take leaky head gaskets, thank you.

You can PMail me off list.

Thanks, Bryan
