Subject: Air Scoops - How do you Make them?
Content-type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; format=flowed; delsp=yes

I see these air scoops on ebay selling for $200! ( which just seems silly!)

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VANAGON-AIR-SCOOPS-COOL_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a1222Q7c39Q3a1Q7c66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a12Q7c240Q3a1318QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem130264998844QQitemZ130264998844#ebayphotohosting

The seem like they would be easy to make.

I went to the store and to see if I could get a plastic container to fit in the space. I even took the vent off and brought it with me to the store, but for the life of me I could not figure out how I would cut it and bend it properly.

Does anyone have a photo site that describes the process. I am sure you need a heat gun to mold the plastic shape but I am looking for a step by step guide.

Can anyone point in the proper direction?

Thanks. Robert NY
