  My reply was in support of another Vanagon owner with a big problem   I've
dealt with the same problem a few times and have some experience that might
be of use to him.  No Politics involved here..only some advice based on my
own understanding and experience I've gained.  I've been  involved with
trying to collect from insurance companies...all the way to courts,
arbitration, lawyers, impound yards, towing companies, hospital bills, and
credit ratings, Life-flights, assessors, etc etc etc.  A long rugged fight.
  Every dirty trick the insurance company could toss at me, I think I
saw..twice.  No politics there..other than the fact that we are required to
carry insurance by our government..
  How can an internet post be other than one-sided?  If you want to debate
the insurance industry, PM me and we can do so off the list, but in the mean
time, the fellow with the banged up van and Mel the insurance guy, he needs
to know how these guys will try to work him so he can get the best possible
outcome to his problem with them..  "Diatribe"?  Perhaps you could call it
that. I call it 'real world'.
