All I have heard through the years is that the Vanagon automatic transmission is so simple that any competent automatic transmission shop can repair, etc. Change fluid and filter regularly may be best advice. If seals start popping, get it to a shop ASAP. Could be as simple as valve body needing a good cleanout.
