Greetings,

As a long-time subscriber to the list, and following a variety of
threads about the Dometic refrigerators, I am curios if there was an
ignition change somewhere along the line.   I have a 1997 Syncro
Westfalia, and attempting to get the refrigerator lit drives me nuts.  I
press the ignition button, and there is a single piezo spark.  In a
couple of posts, one recently, there was a reference to an electric
piezo igniter on some later refrigerators.

Do I assume correctly that at some point in time the single spark
igniter was replaced by igniter using a power source and produce
multiple sparks (like my LP gas BBQ does)?

Can I retro-fit my 1987 "single spark" refrigerator with the electronic
igniter?

At what point in the model run did this change take place, or what are
the refrigerator model numbers which have the electric igniter?
