Hi gang --- Linda (wife) and BlueBelle (84 Westy) and I are heading for Edisto Beach State Park SC between Xmas and New Years. We want to spend some time in Charleston --- which is an hour away from the park. Any suggestions for things we should do and see in this area during that time. We live in Ontario, so just being warmish and in the van is going to be a thrill :-)

Cheers, Doug

*********************** Doug,

It's been a while since I lived in SC, but my wife and I used to enjoy hanging out at "the Battery", with nice homes and view of Fort Sumter (lots of Civil War history in Charleston). There used to be a nifty flea market in town on Saturday morning, held in a historically- interesting setting. Middleton Gardens is very nice, and with an "antebellum flavor". You should seek 'She-crab soup' and 'low country barbecue' for some regional dining specialties. Enjoy.
