Lee, the small canisters work great for propane torches and the like, but for a furnace/heater not so well. The Westy tank holds around 11-12 lbs of propane and would run the small Propex for about 6-7 days (or more, depending on hours of use). A better choice would be one of the smaller grille tanks, which I believe are available in 5- or 10-pounders. <http://domsoutdoor.com/product.asp?pn=1-026658> Keep in mind you will still need a 2-stage regulator to provide the correct pressure for the heater. Code in the US and Canada does not allow for propane tank storage inside, although a few people do so. If there were a leak on the tank connection, it could be deadly.
