Hi all, As some of you know, I rolled my '82 Westy last June. It is back together except for one detail. Being on its roof made it necessary to replace the poptop. The original top had staples attaching the canvas to the top. The replacement top is from a much later Westy. '89 or so IIRC. The later top uses aluminum strips similar to the ones that attach the canvas to the body. The top I have doesn't have those strips. I say similar because a few months ago one of our listmembers kindly sent me what he believed were the top strips. They're not. They're the canvas to body pieces. The correct strips are flat whereas the body attachment strips have joggles in them to go over the reinforcing ribs in the roof sheet metal. So... if you're wandering around the boneyard and you spot them, I could sure use them. The aluminum strips that fasten the canvas to the plastic poptop. They're held on with about half a zillion small Phillips screws.
