I've had the woven copper strap that connects the brushes break apart at sub-zero temps. The wire gets so stiff it just craps out.

I've got a fairly new Bosch OE alternator on the shelf with 45k mi on it and noisy bearings. I'll try the Bus Depot bearings and see if they fit...
