I originally considered putting in a MacMini permanently into my
Westy. But the original MacMini wasn't fast enough to play HD video.
The Intel based Minis, however, are and are more attractive an option.
While I haven't done anything towards this goal, I started thinking
about it, and realized that an installed MacBook would be an even
better choice, as it has a built UPS (aka battery). I could still use
an external monitor with the Macbook, and an external keyboard. The
form factor was amenable in ways different than the MacMini.

A refurb low-end MacBook runs about $850.

In the end I just use the Macbook as a laptop and it works fine that
way.
