Subject: fuel hose sleeve alternative?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

I just received my order of braided nylon sleeving from cableorganizer.com[1]. Initial impressions are very good.

I ordered the 1/2" sleeving and it fits perfectly over the fuel hose. I'm hoping this will help me avoid a repeat of the "goo ooze" nightmare[2] that occurred only weeks after I replaced my original factory fuel hose.

Although I'm also using a better grade of hose this time, I wanted to avoid re-using the original sleeves since a) they're now full of the goo, and b) I think a more breathable sleeve will help avoid any chance of a repeat by not trapping fuel vapors that might migrate through the hose walls. However I did not want to go without any kind of protection for the fuel hose.

This sleeving was inexpensive (0.67 per foot, and they don't gouge you on shipping either).

Once it's installed I'll post some follow up pics.

Allan
