The HS2000 draws 1.4 amps, the HS2800 1.9 amps. So a fully-charged starting battery would power it easily for a few days as long as the heater was not running 100% of the time. I usually recommend an auxiliary deep-cycle be added if folks camp more than a night or two at a time.
