The pictured sandwich adapter looks pretty low-rent. That hole IS pretty small, and a bi-metallic strip acting directly as a valve? Ja, no thanks. If you pay more, you get more. For example, Mocal makes a sandwich adapter... <http://www.racerpartswholesale.com/product/2972/Mocal_Sandwich_Plate> ...that uses a more reliable thermostat system and a larger bypass.
