You know, it makes sense. Why would VW re-invent the wheel?

I don't have a factory WBX digifant van to experiment on but I'd bet you could plug a Jetta AFM in the van and it would run fine.

You could also check the resistance at full open and full closed on both units to see if they are similar.

From ETKA No warranty, expressed or implied on this information...

Part number for '86 MV (2.1) Idle control valve 025 906 457A Part number for '89 Jetta (1.8 Mexico) Idle control valve 037 906 457D Part number for '92 Jetta (1.8 Mexico) Idle control valve 037 906 457F

Part number for '86 MV (2.1) Mass Air Flow Sensor 025 906 301 Part number for '89 Jetta (1.8 US) Mass Air Flow Sensor 025 906 301

Veeery interesting... (Laugh In??)

All of the Jetta types were using Digifant. Note if you drop the first three digits (vehicle type identifier?), the remainder is the same (ETKA calls this the 'base part number').

Looking at the diagrams etc. I am going to assume this for my use (yours too if you agree)

"Similar vintage Digifant systems appear to share the same components. Such as mass air flow sensors, idle control valves, possibly more."

I'm going to check a few more parts to confirm this. The real test of course would be to plug one in a WBX and find out :-)
