Thanks for the welcome. Sadly (or maybe happily considering the market), I don't own stocks, but then if I did, I might not have had the money to buy the Vanagon!

Been lurking for a few weeks. I saw stuff about gooey fuel lines and with some research found that it may be a good idea to replace the lines.

I have a set of Mercedes wheels with tires (from my Eurovan project) that I was thinking about installing on the Vanagon. After searching thesamba site I find they will fit with the addition of spacers and longer lugs/bolts. However I may go for new tires first and use stock wheels for winter driving.

The Vanagon is not going to be my daily driver (maybe 100-200 miles a month) but I want to take good care of it.

BTW, I'm in Indy (Indianapolis, IN). Are there any owners or groups in this area?
