I had an AFM fall off my '85 on the way home from the opening showing of
"LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE" with some friends. That made for a great story....
It did work, it just ran rough and was very slow to respond to throttle so
almost impossible to start on a hill. I ended up pulling over, and fixing it
with a quarter (i didn't have a screwdriver to tighten the hoseclamp, only a
quarter).
