hi. 'arborite' ? whazzat ? I like a big thick folded up black plastic tarp for an emergency lay under the van thing. Works better in rain, mud, and snow that cardboard. And there's *another thing* that's really handy about Vanagons for working on them........... great ground clearance.........means you can dive under there pretty easily most of the time without jacking up. And I always believe firmly in making things EASY to work on, and good ground clearnace sure fits with that ! scott www.turbovans.com ----- Original Message ----- From: Doug Alcock To: Scott Daniel - Turbovans Cc: vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com Sent: Monday, November 24, 2008 9:20 AM Subject: Re: Engine runs with no AFM?

FWIW --- I carry a piece of cardboard the size of the Westy back mattress -- under said mattress. It's my "cardboard creeper" and keeps me a little warmer/drier/cleaner when I have to crawl under the Westy at the side of the road. I may even upgrade it to a chunk of correctly sized arborite when that comes my way at the right price (read 'free').
